Congratulations to everyone who ran the Twosome 5k race this past Sunday. There was a record turn out of 166 finishers despite the chilly temperatures. Nick McGraw and Lauren Prufer teamed up for the best combined time of the day of 36 minutes. Race directors Jane Howe and Peter Ellis did a fabulous job of ensuring everyone had a great race day experience. This year’s race had racers ranging in age from 7 to 70 providing inspiration for everyone!

Next up is the Runners’ Choice bus trip to the Peterborough Half-Marathon, 5K and 1K Kids Fun Run on Sunday February 26, 2012.

The cost for the bus is just $10 for KRRA members and $30 for non-members.

FebFest Sale

Downtown Kingston’s FebFest is set to begin Feb 2-5th just steps away from Runners’ Choice at Market Square.

2012 Twosome Run – February 12th

This race is organized and supported by the Kingston Road Runners Association in support of KRRA charitable causes as well as the Limestone Learning Foundation.

In this unique Winter event, runners compete as individuals for KRRA series points, but can also compete as male-female teams for “twosome” overall and combined age group placings.

The course takes runners along city streets through the Queen’s University campus and past many of the historic “Old Stones” of Kingston. Post race refreshments and awards take place in the warmth of the school gymnasium.

The race starts at 10:30 am from Winston Churchill Public School, Earl and MacDonnell Streets on Sunday, February 12th.

Bus trip to Peterborough 1/2 marathon

KRRA and Runners’ Choice will be hosting a bus trip for the Peterborough 34th Annual YMCA Half-Marathon, 5K and 1K Kids Fun Run on Sunday February 26, 2012.

Santa Run 2011

This happy group met at Runners’ Choice on Dec 18th for our annual “Santa Run”. Three bins of food and $150 were collected in support for the Partners in Mission Food Bank. After a fun 5km run, we returned to Runners’ Choice for some hot cider, cookies and prizes for everyone.
Thanks to the over 60 runners who made this such a great day!

Join us Sunday December 18th at 10:30 am at Runners’ Choice for our annual Santa Run. This fun run has something for everyone. Join the 5 km run or go for a shorter walk – this family event is about fun … and helping out the Foodbank. We would like to encourage everyone to bring along a non-perishable food item or a monetary donation for the Foodbank. After the run, meet back at the store for refreshments and draw prizes (everyone wins!). Have a peek at last year’s Santa Run and see how much fun it is:
